Frequently Asked Questions
About the company and its business
What does CradleTo do?
We run three businesses built around carbon credits: the specialist publication CarbonCredits.jp (including the paid database CDR PRO), the Carbon Credit Procurement Playbook, and the Carbon Credit Procurement Management System.
Are CarbonCredits.jp articles free to read?
Daily reporting is free to read. The databases used for procurement decisions, and subscriber-only articles, are provided through the paid plan, CDR PRO.
What is your mission?
Building a world where capital flows to the technologies confronting humanity's greatest challenges. Our mission is to bring capital into circulation for environmental projects that economics has left behind, and to establish a new financial architecture built around carbon credits.
About CDR PRO
What is CDR PRO?
A database for carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and carbon credits. Registry transaction records, supplier assessments, GHG and offset disclosures of companies in Japan and abroad, methodologies, and carbon pricing schemes can be checked together in Japanese.
How much does it cost?
A single plan at ¥2,980 per month, including tax. The first seven days are free; cancel within that period and nothing is charged.
How do I pay, and how are card details handled?
Payments are handled by Stripe. Card details are not stored on our site.
Where does the data come from?
We independently collect and organise public information: transaction records from national credit registries, and primary corporate disclosures such as securities reports and ESG data books. Corporate disclosures are recorded with quotations from the original, and non-disclosure is recorded as a fact in its own right.
How often is the data updated?
Daily. Current coverage can be confirmed on the service site.
Do you cover credits other than emerging CDR (DAC, biochar, and so on)?
Yes. Emerging CDR credits, conventional credits (afforestation, forest management and the like), and the market as a whole can all be examined on the same screen, with the underlying populations kept distinct.
About the Procurement Playbook
Can I read it with no prior knowledge?
Yes. Written to assume no prior knowledge, it takes you in order from the essentials through to the practice of systems, quality, and procurement.
How can I read it?
It is a benefit of CDR PRO membership. The same membership as the CDR PRO databases gives you every chapter.
Does the content go out of date?
Every chapter is re-verified quarterly to keep pace with regulatory change. The last-updated date and the next review are shown at the top of each page.
Does it replace consulting?
This playbook is neither an educational service nor a substitute for consulting. It does not replace final legal, tax, or accounting judgement, so please confirm individual decisions with a specialist.
